I studied Computer Science and Statistics at university, then applied those skills while advising high-performance hockey teams on using analytics to find a competitive edge. That work opened the door to other aspects of the sports world and I shifted into working in a variety of different sports, became primarily involved in marketing, fan experience, and event management and saw sports fandom in a whole new light.

My introduction to hockey cards came at a young age when my parents notice I was reading the cards thoroughly. Eager to get me and my siblings reading, they bought us whatever they noticed kept our noses in a book...or in a deck of cards. While my brother and sister where getting the Harry Potter novels hot off the presses, I was getting Dollar Store repack bags by the dozen and discount Toys R' Us blaster boxes.

During the pandemic lockdowns, the itch to use hockey data for something productive returned. I started applying my knowledge of prospect evaluation to an area I always had a fondness for...hockey cards. I would identify undervalued hockey players and hockey cards and make small investments—a game of penny stocks for a niche hobby. What began as a small experiment snowballed into the brand and e-commerce platform I run today. The rigorous tracking and data collection have been a labour of love, and I only get more into it every day!

Although hockey cards is the origin of Antti Locke Designs, it is evolved into much more. I have had the opportunity to see sports and hockey from many angles—experiences that continue to inspire the ideas I bring to life through Antti Locke Designs!
